SSL - Auth update required

Postby retro68 » Fri Mar 27, 2009 8:45 pm

Hi,

Purchased SSL plugs - they show up in my profile.
Upgraded to 5.3 (software and firmware) - control panel says all is ok.
Downloaded Auth file and dragged on control panel icon.
The control panel launches but offers no feed back that the auth was successful.
Everything is authorized and working except for the SSL plug it says "Auth update required" .
Have tried many times - no go.

I found several threads about this about previous versions - but cant find a solution.

Any ideas,

Thanks,

R68

I had the same problem
It worked eventually but Im not sure how I did it
I think I opened up the control panel and selected plugins page and
dragged the audio on yop.

When I try to open the SSL I get this error message.

Will not auth - even with a new file.

Also tried dragging audio on the plugin window - it said you cant do that.

This from UA:

IMPORTANT NOTE - For All UAD v5.* Users:

Please launch the UAD Meter and open the Plug-Ins window... then click the 'Authorize Plug-Ins...' button to update. It is important that you do not login to my.uaudio and click the 'Download Authorization File' button to get a new authorization file.

Note: The 'Download Authorization File' button in your my.uaudio / My Systems page is only for users running older UAD software ( pre v5.*) .

Followed that procedure - still no go - the authorization file comes down but, when it is dragged
over the panel icon in the doc, the panel launches but no box appears that says the authorization was successful.

Thanks,

You shouldn't need to do any dragging. You need to set your browser to open the auth file with the UAD app when you download it. Firefox gives you the option.

Gonz,

Thanks for the help , but the file is set to open with the UA Meter - just the file that is d/l will not update the SSL plugs.

Thanks,

I am in the same situation and can not authorize the Time and Cooper & Channel Strip purchased recently with the generated file and the support does not answer my messages!
On my page my audio.com, reflecting the situation but not at home _
I do not know how ?

Exact same problem here. Just installed an UAD2Solo, and cannot authorize all the plug ins I transferred from my old UAD1. Also, the most recent plug-ins don't offer any demo possibility, only a green text " Auth update required". I did the authorization process many times, but doesn't work at all.

Happy even when not to be alone but I am surprised at the lack of response to my request from Universal Audio and should they certainly fix the problem _
on the UAD-1, only access to demo versions so that everything is good on my page My Audio. Com !
I also put the new firmware to install version 5.3.0. _

I sent an email to customer support and uaJames (does he still works for UA?). They are closed over the weekend so we will see what happens in the next day or 2.

Hi Guys,
I'll check and see if there was a problem with the server over the weekend. We've had a lot of emails and calls come in over the weekend, so please bear with our support team as they catch up.

For the first thing, let's try having all of you do a full shut-down of your system (not a restart) and then power it back up. Check the Plugins Tab again and see if it still says "Auth Update Required". If it does, try obtaining an auth file again.

At each test with the authorization file is generated, we never get that window to ensure the smooth operation ! Previously, it worked fine every time and never a problem, it is the first time that I have this "error" _

Same as fantomas here - never get the window that says the authentication updated.

Today I heard from Tech support who suggested I take the card out for a few minutes and then put it back.
Clicked generate a new auth file... didn't work.
Tried this - using another slot. ..same

Also received an email with an auth file and that didn't work either.

Thanks,

Hi Guys,
Everything seems to be in-order on the server, so I have a couple more questions for you (if you can all answer individually):

1) It appears you are all Mac OSX users, is that correct?
2) Are you updating from v5.2 to v5.3, or are you coming to v5.3 from an earlier version?
3) Are you applying the auth file with the UAD Meter already running, or is it launching when you apply the auth file? Does doing it one way or the other make a difference?
4) Can you please verify your UAD2 Firmware and FPGA numbers are up-to-date for me (use the "Save Detailed System Profile" button on the System Config tab of the UAD Meter Control Panel :
Firmware: 2.01.19036
FPGA version: 2.08.35862

Thanks!
